@MDU - With Bx Devo moving towards Lifebane Zombies, is Searing Blood a better MD choice?

It's not a totally dead card with Esper (as long as you don't win before Elspeth makes tokens).

Q3: If you're playing against Monsters and they play Sylvan Caryatid on T2, do you think you can win? A3: I know I can win. See my rantings about Titan's Strength. TS on an AZ not only takes out Sylvan Caryatid, but everything 5 toughness and down and scry 1. You also can use it on your Phoenix to ...

In the SBD slot, I am trying chandra.
I really like chandra. Pure card advantage (and the +1 ping can also be card advantage if it brings back a Phoenix).

Hey, Montu, do you live in Tampa or something? Or do you just really love the Montu at Busch Gardens?
I'm a coaster fanatic . . . my best year I rode 86 different roller coasters.

Montu is my favorite.

I once flew to Tampa (from Cincinnati) just for the day to ride roller coasters. :jam:

Embarrassing question: what's our game plan against that stupid dredge deck that's poking around? It seems like such a good matchup, but the couple times I've faced it I've lost. I've personally only faced it 3x in the last 100 matches and have gone 2-1. (The first time I didn't have a strategy.) M...

Also . . . "4 Duress in my sideboard is a reaction to the amount of burn decks being played on Magic Online. I love Duress against the Sphinx's Revelation decks as well and I am happy to play four, but with Burn also now a part of the metagame, four Duress sideboard is mandatory." That's e...

Wouldn't it be better value to avoid playing in 8 mans together?
YES!! - if your trying to go inf. or your new too magic I highly recommend sticking with DEs and PE to earn your riches.
Nice thing about DEs is you can play all the games you pay for if you want. :)

Wouldn't it be better value to avoid playing in 8 mans together? I've done the math. At current booster prices, you need the following match win rates to break even: 2-Man Queues: 73% 8-Man Queues: 61% Daily Event: 52% So, yeah, DE's are where it's at. It's just very hard for me to fit them in my s...

I love SBD as a card, but I'm not sure he's what we want in this deck. Got my first 2 QPs this morning. I tried running 2 queues at once. I have to say, I didn't enjoy it one bit. (did 2-0, 1-0, but felt stressed out of my mind). Went another solo for 2-0. Still trying to fit in a DE.

Johnny, what's the sideboard look like? The maindeck only has 11 creatures and generally is only boarding up to 16-18 max. It's a shock with scry so there's that and can do cute combat tricks. He decided to just not worry about it. Also, mending touch or boros charm can both mean that you may only be smoking an enchantment or two. I was not kidding about 2x Glaring Spotlight for mtgo either, hexproof can get fucked.

Montu's FNM Report

Went 4-1 for 3rd place out of 28 people. My strategy was to lower my curve (hence no SBD in SB, and replacing VFB with Shocks in MB), hit them with early aggro damage, and finish them off with burn. Is your MTGO handle the same? I haven't come across any DTR guys in the queues yet, but I'll keep an eye out.

I ended up falling to the UW player.
Yup . . . it's also "montu" online.

Last time I jumped in with a DTR guy it was Z, and lost to him. :)
