How few Blood Crypt do you think we can get away with? I think easily -1 Blood Crypt. It showed up more than I needed it, fairly consistency. (Only 7 matches total though, so small sample). I was never at a lack for black. 24 lands meant I was scrying a lot of lands to the bottom, and ended a numbe...

How's the manabase feel? I am pretty proud of it. I also thinking going down to only 2 Chained is justified, given how uninteractive our creature base is. Surprisingly, I haven't found any issues that aren't in the RW-only build. No complaints. I've thought about the 2x Chained. On the one hand, it...

Ended up 3-1 in the DE Match 4: UW Aggro G1: He had Espeth and Brimaz on board. I had him to 2 life, then top decked a land. G2: My opening hand was suboptimal . . . 4 lands (including 1 mutavault) 2x Phoenix, and WLH. In hindsight, I should have mulliganed. I got blind-sided when he countered my ve...

Now 3-0 in the DE. Match 3: UW Control G1: I kept a sub-optimal opening hand (only Crypt / Mutavault with a Charm and Chained), because I was on the draw. Game went smoothly and I easily won. +4 Firedrinker +2 Chandra -3 Searing Blood -2 Chained -1 Shock G2: I lost early tempo because of 2 Azorius C...

Now 2-0 in the DE. Match 2: Jund Monsters G1: I mull to 6. I chain his Courser early but he gets a great draw and puts Reaper, Zenagos, Domri on board by T5. -3 T/T +1 W/T +2 Chained G2: He mulls to 6 and gets flooded. I hammer him quickly. G3: I keep a 2 land hand (2x Temple) because it's chock-ful...

Playing the DE . . . using Zem's latest RWb. M1: BG Dredge G1 - Shocked his Mystic T1, and had an easy win in 7 turns. +4 Satyr Firedancer -4 [card]Toil // Trouble[/card] G2 - Shocked his Mystic T1. He didn't hit second land until T4. He Toughtseized me on T7 when he had 7 life and I had a Boros Cha...

Match 3 was RW Burn. Game 3 came down to single digits on both sides and my drawing 4 lands in a row sealed the deal. You definitely need to pay attention to land drops more this deck . . . colors and making sure you have a Mountain if you think you're playing chained. And, yup, Zem, that's the SB I...

Win at all costs. Find every millimeter of value and advantage. Also the damn thread and don't ask me questions when the answer is clearly stated. Just won a tight game against B Devo in a SE with your deck. He had Staff up on game 2. Totally ignored it and just kept hammering him for the win. Kept...

Remember that post where I said don't play it online? It's for paper meta? Ahh~ gotcha I thought this was your new SB plan rather then that Dega burn list. Z was just helping me out for this Saturday's SCG Open in Milwaukee. Anyway, starting in June I will be able to get in 1 DE every day. So I can...

@Elricity Regarding Nighthowler, it can get out of hand VERY fast. They usually drop Sylvan Caryatid on 2 and then by turn 4 or 5 they drop Nighthowler on their little 1/1 Satyr and it becomes an 11/11. You Chain the Satyr and now they have a 10/10 Nighthowler. One of my play test partners runs tha...

If its any condolences your set-up is many time better then mine, Ash + Cack is better then just Ash and YP$. Some points: 1) I think Titan's Strength is a tad weak with only 12 creatures (Pyrewild Shaman would be the better choice), along with 1x Toil // Trouble being oddly placed in an creature t...

OMG . . . I just destroyed Jund Monsters in Match 1 of a DE. G1 - I lost but it was close (each had 4 life, and I top-decked a Mountain but the next card was a WLH). G2 - Blind Obedience really shined. I actually got 2 on the board, which shut down his Dragon (until I drew into a Mortars), and allow...

Yup. And killing their Underworld Connections slows down their card advantage AND decreases their devotion.Of note, I would consider packing more wear/tear now that the stupid staff of death magus tech is out there.

I'm leaning towards something like your PBZ build for the SCG Open in Milwaukee this weekend. I've got to figure out the SB still. One thing is I'm leaning towards Temple of Silence instead of Guildgates . . . they work well with Cacklers and BO, and I think scry is really important. (I'm not sure t...

Seems like Anger of the Gods would smack it down hard if it gains popularity. Its a fringe deck, but how are you guys dealing with G Devotion? It looks like a uphill battle, it doesn't help that its dead cheap to build and has placed well in two PE (6-1). . .

GB Agro/Midrange (Troll, varolz, polukranos, gift of orzhova + efficient B and BG removal, naya hexproof, UW control with archangel of thune (went 2nd). While I do agree mulling to avoid discard is a logic fail however keeping a 5 lander is just wrong (unless you have phoenix or something and even then its risky). With 4x Thoughtseize and 4x Duress, there's a 70% chance they'll have at least 1 in their first 8 cards, and a 47% chance they'll draw a...

That's not even close to accurate...on the play I have 22 lands in the deck out of 53 cards, that's a 41.5% chance to hit my second land drop. The chance to hit in two turns is somewhat higher, but if I miss my second land drop, the chance to hit the third is very low. My losses in that match can b...

I don't know if Peak Eruption is the best SB hate, but I pretty much refuse to run Staff of the Flame Magus and it has carry over to GR. With only 10 white sources, I like it more than Blind Obedience. Thinking it through (not tested): There's a very small window of opportunity when Peak Eruption c...
