there is an abzan aggro list that plays hangerback walkers instead of rakshasas deathdealer which gives the deck a decided advantage over the mirrors withouth hangerbacks and is good in the late game against languish

what do you think about this decklist with maindeck monastery siege and treasure cruise for ur sligh. i think it has great potential. We get the same aggro game plan but then we have 2 cruise and 3 sieges to work with if we get stalled out or we have to burn every creature that they play. Im not say...

This is what im currently playing right now and I think I need to switch to a dragon build like lee shi tian did. Im finding the abzan matchup unbeatable and its not because of the lifegain from rhino. Its mainly because I cant deal with their 4 power guys and kill them in a good time frame. If i ha...

Ive seen many situation where if people had mentor they would have been able to switch roles when burn your guys and attack is no longer an option. It just appears that the games get durdly enough to where the deck needs a breaker. ALso i haver personally tested out mentor vs the decks like abzan an...

I dont understand why the red mages at the pro tour did not decide to run red white burn instead of mono red? isnt monastery mentor too good not to splash for and they get chained to the rocks

ive been durdling around with a jeskai list with 22 lands. I dont know if its good or bad but Id like to get some discussion going on how to abuse treasure cruise with this red deck. it may just be that ur is better than jeskai but the upsides to mentor+cruise is tantalizing for me to ignore [deck]c...

Could we just play a blue red variant with some number of treasure cruise and day's undoing instead of temur? It might give us a way to no longer need atarkas command since we can just play the control burn game.

I would not change my list again until the rotation of the format with fate reforged and I would go into my last event with this exact 75. I can't help but think this is a bad idea. lol. why is that? as long as no new deck enters the format this deck is doing well enough for me to keep it in this c...

I don't understand large parts of that deck. It looks horrendous honestly. The reason it looks very funky is because mardu midrange was very big in my local meta which warped the decklist to this configuration. With the amount of people doing well enough with the deck I was not able to reliably dod...

I'm also finding out that it's not a very easy or forgiving deck. It's pretty simple, but I still feel that I get blown out because I don't know the meta very well. Not a great choice for my first Khans deck. The thing is you are a deck that capitalizes on small windows of opportunity and not knowi...

well thats why i bring in more of the combo is because of the hate. i can cast redundant pieces and leave them open to utter end or banishing light and the combo in the deck is not there for the same reason you stated. We have a combo in our deck for those situations that they board in ways to stall...

So far ive played this deck at one small store event a starcity games iq and two daily events and so far I think the deck has amazing potential. I went 0-2 drop in one event and I went 3-1 losing in my final game due to a lack of sideboard options vs temur. I had a different sideboard going into my ...

well it turns out that everyone was right about mindswipe and deflecting palm. I put them all aside for game day and came away with a 4-1 finish and a 4-0 finish in two events. the reason i like hushwing gryff is because its a creature that they dont want to kill and if they take 4 points of damage off of it waiting for mantis rider or seeker then we have just stoked them and if they take 6 or 8 we are getting lethal with critical mass of burn. Who wants to kill it? I know...

Got some notes from today's testing. I'll spare everyone the notes from the Abzan Weenie's matchup, because that deck proved itself to be a steaming pile. Either that, or it has zero way to win against 2 mana burn spells in general. Searing Blood and Monastery Swiftspear means that he can never att...

This deck actually looks good, kudos on sticking Mantis Rider in burn when everyone else was waiting for some creature-tempo shell to emerge. You need to smooth out the numbers though and probably drop Mindswipe from this list entirely. I actually built this deck the way nicholas heel said was one ...

I think we can put the deflecting palm and mindswipe debate to rest. Until the format is defined, who knows what will be a good build or a bad one. http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=12049 - second deck. I don't think this is much better. Swan Song + Searing Blood was cute though. Mindswipe and Deflecting Palm look like cards that swap in vs. control or aggro, respectively. Having 4x of each would be kinda funny in a mirror match. I ...
