So in one of the top 8 drafts of GP Vegas, Pascal Maynard rare drafted a foil Goyf P2P1 over a Burst Lightning while he was solidly in RW. This caused tons and tons of controversy. Most notably, Owen Turtenwald and Huey Jensen were "disgusted" and "lost all respect" for Pascal Maynard. (Owen and Huey have apologized)

After some of the dust settled, Pascal Maynard put the Goyf on eBay for auction, donating 50% of the profit to the charity, Gamers Helping Gamers. WIthin a few hours the bid was at a couple thousand. As the time of this posting it is at $12k. What do y'all think? Are people shelling this much or are these bids just troll bids?

I think it's sad how he has to defend himself after drafting that.

$16 000 now. Not surprising now that it's become a charity auction. I doubt that these are troll bids - there are lots of people out there who love to donate to charity like this. They don't get the tax receipt, but they get a piece of #MagicHistory.

I'm all for serious collecting, but the story behind this Goyf doesn't seem worthy enough to fetch such a price tag. The next GP Vegas could be bigger. Hell, I've already forgotten there was a tournament last weekend. Explaining to someone why this Goyf is supposed to be historic just isnt convincing.

I guess the charity helps, but I have my doubts about the current 16k bid being legitimate.
