90s Smashing Pumpkins were better than Nirvana.

Someone had to say it.
lol no way

Cobain created main stream grunge and it died along with him, that shows a lot

Lyrically Nirvana was better

Some poor soul got infracted by Teita and chose the lapdog as his appeal admin. Good luck with that buddy.

The whole "don't gang up on helpdesks" thing is because hazing people with appeals is less fun when the people you are bullying join forces and start throwing the punches back.

I think you mean "Remember when Brandon oversaw the single biggest real-world disaster in MTGS history and nearly single-handedly caused a mass casualty incident?" At least that's what Misclick told me I did.

tbf Viricide was a better WCT mod than me, but then again I measure my success rate by the fact that noone remembers I ever was a WCT mod, but I'm betting that everyone will remember Senori and specially Teita having been WCT mods after they will have stepped down/gotten the boot.

Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2013 4:37 pm
by Col. Khaddafi
That WCT drama summarized

- some guy from Siberia complained about his teen angst
- some USMC guy (not Fahey) told him to man up army style
- Kijin overreacted a little bit by getting worried this was a Columbine in the making (could have been, but the odds were small enough that it didn't matter)
- rianalnn took the occasion for cleaning house and booted Kijin while at the same time making a huge clusterfuck everywhere on the site like he always did when he was on his admin abuse of powers rampage.

I remember I was in some meeting at the European Space Agency in Netherlands so I didn't check the site for 1-2 days and when I came back I was like, "what happened?"

Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2013 4:40 pm
by Col. Khaddafi
Basically that thing was completely blown out of proportion by admin rianalnn.

A harbinger of things to come

Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2013 4:42 pm
by Col. Khaddafi
I then made a detailed drama summary in the gutter where I basically told Kijin, kpaca, and rianalnn to shut the fuck up.

Kijin and kpaca are still good friends to this day. rianalnn never spoke to me again. I think he slapped me with some cock breach shortly afterwards and then I resigned from staff.

little did we knew it wouldn't end there...

Well, that happens because the silence is interpreted as the user accepting the card. If someone doesn't appeal a decision, it should be because he/she thinks there are grounds for that decision to have been made. We do not accept appeals from third parties for that reason. It's the user in question that has to come out and make his case.
Personally, there's no way I'm reversing a decision if the user doesn't speak up. You may even present a plausible case, but I interpret the person's silence as him saying I was right in my accessment. I have heard of people that don't appeal decision because they think "it will amount to nothing" but I've always discouraged that. No one should assume that their appeals will always be successful, but they also shouldn't assume they are getting denied everytime. It's all about the case at hand and the
validity of the appeal.
Or maybe people have tried appealing in the past, yet have been roughed up so much that they won't even bother appealing anymore, given the staff bias they have to deal with on a daily basis

I know I never bothered to appeal my ban and Sene's slandering over "Malicious actions against websites" for the simple reason of how discretionary my ban was and how ridiculous the staff claims were. There simply isn't any basis to discuss crap like this.

We want feedback there, and sometimes it's hard. I'm telling you, at times, I think of myself as a regular user and I have to confess, some people can make the environment so hostile that I can see people being affraid to post there... which is TERRIBLE
