the drop-off between red in BNG and THS is ridiculous...it's going to make for some interesting drafting since BNG will be first and people will end up in red due to the power level, then they will all be fighting for the scraps pack 2 and 3

3-1 btw. I have won more qps in the last 3 events than in the previous week and a half of constructed

I scrubbed out of my Modern DE but went on a 4-0 rager in the 2-mans. Yay awful EV!

Play Modern Elimination (8-Mans) you get QPs for it and it seems like regular grinders play em all the time (at least during my timezone) so the comp is great.

I should have. I ended up playing 2mans while waiting for the 3rd round in the DE to start, then ended up facing a disconnected opponent and getting a 4th round bye. It's hard to find 3+ hours to play in 8man queues. Fucking real life!

Its easier to run 8-Man then it is DE imo, I think it was better when DE times changed each week - with this new system the only DE's I can play will cut deep into my sleeping hours.

That said: MOCS4 is Modern, the grinding period starts on Feb 26 - Mar 26 it would be great if we're both in it

@Kait and Open - MOCS3 Sealed grinding time is almost over Jan 29 - Feb 26 make sure to win the prelims on:
Feb 27, 7:00 AM
Feb 27, 3:00 PM
Feb 28, 7:00 AM
Feb 28, 3:00 PM
Mar 01, 7:00 AM
Mar 01, 3:00 PM

If you don't make the finals and you have time, I'll love to get some advice on my Finals Sealed Pool.

Note: Modern Eliminations (ME) usual run >3 hours, this was still the case with 4 top200 players in the same queue (some multi-queuing).

I'm going to grind hard for MOCS4, the period starts right after I return from a long trip. Are 8 mans the best way to get QPs? I usually have 3 hours each morning to play before work.

Apparently BNG Release events when you go red are the best way to get qps

depends on your format

2-0 today with a "white" pool that had terrible white cards. I kinda had trouble building the pool since all my bombs were in BUG but I had no mana fixing. I ended up with BGu splashing my sea god's revenge, phenax, and 2/3 seedborn tefari...

that was probably a mistake because I've been having a ton of trouble game 1 but then owning game 2 and/or 3 when I switch into a BU mill deck.

I have 3 asphyxiate and phenax so that's been working out well

oh, Phenax is amazing btw

So I submitted my sideboard change and game 2 starts but my deck is the same as game 1 x_x

It comes down to: if he draws a land I win, if he draws a creature I have 5 outs in 22 cards...

He draws a creature, I draw a land, gg :suicidegif:

8-Mans are best for farming QP, the issue is your timezone and format - when I was running Standard I could get an event to fire very quickly but for Modern I'll usually be waiting 10-30 minutes to get a pop (though modern event usually end faster then Standard or Limited Event so it kinda makes up for it (thank god Eggs is gone)).

Ah, valid point. I play Modern primarily, so 8-mans don't fill up as quickly. Since I want QPs, there's really no other choice, since I'm pretty bad at limited and don't think I'll improve significantly in the next month.

BNG prices are still a little high. I shall wait patiently for them to tumble :)
