Going out to another card shop today. Here's hoping I can find some good wrath/geddon/obliterate cards in Korean for my Kim Jong Un deck.
Pray to Purphoros for me.

EDH is all about the collection. The journey. These cards mean something to me, not just for winning prizes and crushing noobs. That's what my Legacy deck does.
I want to say, "Yes, I flew 17 fucking hours, fumbled through learning the language, and played against Korean speaking people to go pick up these cards."
That's why I play with foreign cards. Not because they're cool and bling. Because I went and fucking got them myself.

think about the journey the cards go on to get to you when ordered online
they're frisked by strange korean hands, muffled and gagged in a coffin like chamber, shipped across the universe to sure death, only to emerge after several galactic waypoints in the sweaty hands of their new master

Love my Norin EDH deck.
Played against a Memnarch deck. Who knew mono-red was better at control than mono-blue. Had an early Welding Jar/Goblin Welder doing some fucking work for me. Yeah, I'm going to Warp World with 16 permanents on the board. Oh, you only have 8? Well, here's a Valakut and six mountains, Purphoros, Beetleback Chief, Krenko, and Duplicant. Sorry about your Karn. And the three spells you flipped. And your life total.

So
toxic deluge is now my favorite mass removal spell ever. It does all the things, and the ability to leave your biggest dude alive in some circumstances is fantastic. I just hope it never hits standard, that seems like a nightmare.

Superman is bland or no longer works for most people because currently no one has actually went back to why he actually works. In reality he is probably one of the characters that minorities or children from immigrants can relate to. Immigrant from another world, raised from nothing and using his gifts and abilities to make a better, safer world around him.
This is why Superman is an amazing superhero. The entire thing is allegory - two Jewish guys created a superhero whose life is a parallel to theirs - isn't accepted by society, is considered an alien, never belongs, tries desperately to blend in with everyone else, etc.
Whereas Batman is the cliché white American-dream hero; born with money, struggles with
psychological problems his entire life (omg I'm rich but my parents died so my life totally sucks), gets into the superhero thing by being a genius with crazy will-power, never kills anyone because he doesn't want to tarnish his morals (but just think of how many people die because of that), etc.
tl;dr - Superman parallels the real-life minority experience/dream, Batman is literally a comic of first-world problems.

I am so glad I sat on two full sets of Griselbrands when I used them this past block. I loved Griseldaddy too much to sell them when they were about to rotate out and now they're at $33 a piece when I bought them for $10.
Maybe buying DRS is a good idea right now? They won't stay banned forever in Modern and I imagine they'll steadily go up on their own once they rotate right? What other cards should be looked into that are in RtR?

Griselbrand is 33 a pop now?
Shit, son, I have a foiled out playset of those someplace.
