Chatting can increase the rate of boosters earned though.

Gahhhh!!!! I hate the beta, now that you can presnipe queues - people just mass quit queues whenever regulars queue up....

This really sucks! Also sabotages Wizards business as less events will fire - I've NEVER known a company try so hard to avoid making money!

mtgo has proven to them that the neckbeard populace is going to pay up no matter what, if a literal broken client still made them a shitzillion dollars last year then so too will the beta and they know

mtg players are the worst sort of nerd, they have no voice

I agree Kaits but if they got their shit together for no other reason that the pursuit of profit they would make even more money. I know of no other business that seems so reluctant to make as much money as possible, though there may be some obviously :)

Talked to Paul Rietzel tonight as he was at my FNM and we had a long conversation about how awful the beta is. It's so bad that he played FNM which hasn't done in ten years because he uninstalled modo.

He's fairly convinced lots of people are getting fired cause it looks like wizards may finally start losing money with people quitting. Magic is a billion dollar industry and half of that is derived from the shitiest program known to man.

I bask in my eternal ignorance of who the regulars are both in paper and online.

The hard core grinder formats are still running strong, but if you have look at the queues which are firing now compared with the queues which fired back in v3 we have a HUGE decline (its so bad that grinder formats like modern are firing more then standard).

That said it could simple be because
people are waiting for the 25th M15 update rather then the V4 transition.

The extra 5 minutes per round is kind of annoying. Two matches now over the 1 hour mark.

Also, I got a bye. I should have assumed that was possible but never actually seen it. Good thing since I lost to an odd early aggro version of Black devotion.

Agreed, I thought I was seeing things when I saw the round length exceed 1h and 5 minutes - on the plus side you now win if your Opp. is AFK for 7 minutes rather then 10 minutes (yeah... yeah... I'll admit I stole a free finish in one of my modern DE finishes :P).

Huh, didn't know there was an afk limit. Good to know when I'm taking so long on a decision. Does it give you a warning?

So my 35 minute videos (yeah, I suck) are almost right at a gig and take almost 6 hours a piece to upload but the quality is good. Yay?

Its normal :p - I also have 1 gig 30+ minute videos.

In v3 you got warning (sometimes RL interferes), I have no idea about v4 - if you do timeout or AFK for 7 minutes not only do you lose (the other guy will get the win), but you also
get booted from the event.

So now I'm trying to figure out how to appropriately remove the letterbox from youtube. Any ideas?

Its frustrating:

1) Click on the Bell (upper right)
2) Click each individual message (you may need to jump into the page)
3) Close youtube
4) If the red box is still being displayed, keep repeating steps 1-3 until it works

I have notification turned off for everything except for comments and pms, which reduces the amount of red spams.

I mean how my videos have a significant amount of black space around them which is probably from the cropping when I originally recorded it.

I was hoping BlakLanner or hamfactorial would have answered this question :tears: I'm not sure how too fix the cropping issues

Find out what native resolution YouTube expects, and make sure that your OBS is set up to broadcast or record at that resolution (by cropping down or expanding your visible region).

Anything else will result in YouTube adding black letterbox to fill up your video to native resolution.

For instance, I record at 1080p, which is 1920x1080 resolution. I accomplish this by creating a 1080p background with art and text, then overlay things like the MTGO window, webcam and chat above.

I don't post to Youtube so I don't know how they handle things.

I uninstalled MTGO and reinstalled it, expecting it to be the Beta, but it still looks like the old client. What gives?

Part of it is my monitor has an odd 1440x 900 resolution. So I need to adjust to 720p it seems

If you didn't download the new client installer, it will install the old client. You just won't be able to connect to the servers.

Where do I go for that? I went to the Wizards website -> Game Info -> Products -> Magic Online -> Download. That should be it...right?

I'll figure it out tomorrow. I'm tired as fuck.

I downloaded it. It still looks like the old version, but slightly better. It definitely doesn't look like the beta though.

That is the new client v4 (formally known as the beta) the old superior client looks much different.

Really? What I knew of the beta looked amazing but was confusing as fuck. This new client seems very easy to understand and navigate.

Mine looks like Khaos' after I installed it last night on the new computer. I thought it was different too, but assumed it was the new computer lol.

I trust you'll do well - I went in blind and now I have 6 daily wins in a row :)

I'm really tempted in bling'ing out the deck now.

I only have a couple of games on MTGO from a year ago under my belt. I think as long as I have my stops set up right, I should be okay. I know my deck very well.

Is there anything I should know about actually entering into the dailies? It looks pretty self-explanatory. I have tickets at the ready and I'm assuming i just have to follow prompts.

It is fairly straightforward. Just don't ever close the tournament window itself or it will drop you. I think they added a warning for that now.

They now actually require you to type in DROP after closing the window to drop I believe.

i've never had to do that, but i haven't been on modo this week (and I haven't closed out of the window in maybe 6 months) so it could be this way now...
