got only a meager qp
i forgot how long daily's take when control is a major part of the meta
went 3-1
also flopped out of a draft with a sick bg deck (hythonia and arbor colossus)
what did i lose to in game 2 and 3? turn 2 minotaur turn 3 ordeal. again.

So I built The Rock for standard and so far results are promising...I'll keep you guys posted
I'm interested in trying this mono black Aggro as well since, despite looking like a pile, apparently it is showing good results.
And The Deer God knows that I would rather play black Aggro than any other type of aggro

16 QPs from daily.
Still possible to have 35 till 26th as I think mono black agro would be good with BtG.

Agreed, B Aggro is looking really solid right now (though this is MTGO we're so RDW may still cause issues).

Doing my first daily event with my cheap burn deck. See how that goes.
What is the proper way to go about splitting? Does it only come up in 8 mans? I imagine it's awkward in daily since it's 17 packs to split for the 4-0 and 3-1. I'm assuming the only big no-no is negotiation for the QPs?

Its 8 + Qp and 9 no QP (so you either give 3 boosters or take 3 boosters), most people running DE want QP (expect the grinders - most grinder hit 35 QP+ with ease so they're after booster).
No one splits at 2-1 so you need to be 3-0 before you bother asking.

i have split hundreds of times in 8-4's and never once have i surrendered the qp

Yeah, same with me I find that 8-Man/SE are usually ran by grinder so I split all the time as well (which you can see in my vids).

Thanks, 1-0 so far, mono black out of the gate.
Just found out you have to leave queue and reenter if you make any deck changes. Had added 2 plains forgetting I had 12 white sources already. Going back to w/o Btg is awkward.

1-1, could have topped decked 9 cards vs black but triple demon with a chain rotting in my hand. Also, game just crashed so...wee? And rejoined so I guess no worries.

Is this still your first round? or did you beat Bx Devotion R1 and lost R2?
Posted: Wed Feb 12, 2014 5:01 am
by Elricity
R1 : Won B Dev 2-0
R2: Lost B Dev (I feel dirty) 1-2
R3: Lost esper human. Couldn't beat early Ghost Council and BBV. Got him to 1 game 2. He d-sphered my assemble. 0-2
Time to go fix those lands.
I'm running this since it was only $70 to build

Bx is actually a bad MU for Cheap burn since TS + Duress kinda kills ya...
We're in luck though since many newb like to cut TS in the MU

though when your rating goes up or when your in the 3-0 bracket you'll notice that TS stays in more often.

Yeah, second guy was wise enough to keep them in and would have had it if I could have dug up a mountain.

Up to 14 QP's - all from the 8-mans (have they always been this easy compared to daily events?) in the past week and a half!
Hopefully Big Boros will still be playable once BNG is available on mtgo.

The skill level in SE's can vary (obv.) but in terms of QP farming its many times easier to run SE then it is DE since you only need two wins for 1 QP.
If your running Beta you can snipe the competition and avoid the grinders and named pros.

So there are positives to running the Beta!

I'm not sure if its worth suffering through the beta just to snipe people, but sure its a positive

When I downloaded, I got beta. What's the advantages/disadvantages of beta vs. regular modo?
Posted: Wed Feb 12, 2014 8:59 am
by LaZerBurn
I've run both LP and everything - deck building, trading, chat, joining events is better in Beta. It's clearer and easier/more intuitive to navigate. BUT, while actually playing in Beta isn't bad playing in the current/old version is MUCH better - clearer, better organised screen etc. I faff about in Beta and play in the original

Question on the replays. They're supposed to be under account / game info aren't they? I know there's a bug with replays not saving on concede but I didn't expect it to be empty after the number of games I did play. Am I missing something blindingly obvious?

I believe you have to tell it to save your games somewhere in the settings.
Re: beta
I hated it but then one day my old version just failed to update and I was forced to use the beta for a few months. Now I'm used to it and, other than crashing every couple hours, it's ok
