Why would you assume that? Theres an example on page one so all they would have to do is falseclaim.

Not many games have safeclaims

Two people I was scumreading popped up with decent claims.

Now, I know I'm not fantastic at mafia, but I don't think I'd be wrong twice in a row.

Plus imopen2 is just pinging my scumdar so very, very hard.

Every game I've played with more than nine players has had scum safeclaims.

I suppose whether one of them safeclaiming or just falseclaiming rather well is moot. The fact is, I find it hard to believe there wasn't a scum in either of them.

Either way its day 1 and I don't like the idea of lynching a cop. The mafia will have to deal with someone tonight and this will show real alignment information

Fair enough.

So, the plan is to votehop between everyone and get everyone to claim their role already in day 1?

That seems an awesome plan. But certainly not for the town imo

When someone is presumably killed by the nightkill we will know a townies alignment, making interesting connections

I am more than willing to discuss who I target tonight. I'm guessing I will be NK'd but it's still worth discussing.

You're not going to get big posts out of me since that's not my style. But, this day 1 seems terribly geared towards the scum since people are basically wagonjumping and trying to get claims out of as many people as possible. I'm not seeing the town motivation there at all.

I'm not going to put my vote on Kaze, but at this point, he's the one leading the charge on all these claims, and I'm failing to see how that is making it any easier for the town?

I'm Simon Wales, a pro rapture peeping tom. I was one of the main architects of Rapture and despite doubts my brother and I managed to build a city on the bottom of the see. Eventually I became a man of god and have a slight religious following, even if splicing has a made me a bit paranoid of others.

Once per night I can peep in another person's window to see if they're praying or not. If someone targets them I am notified about it.

unless I'm reading that horrendously wrong, Witch is just a watcher, making imopen the best target for him.

I would agree. It could keep the scum off my back..

I misunderstood what you were saying yanni.

I agree, imopen should be watched so we can protect him. Who should we target with the coppings?

@suga: in lieu of a big summary post, mind giving a pbpa on yanni? Or discuss any of your other scum reads?

Posted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 3:33 pm
by rezombad
Oh, imopen, how do you receive your results?

Posted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 3:36 pm
by DroppinSuga
Yanni's play in the beginning of the game was pinging me due to his popping in and jumping on a wagon. But now that's he contributing more than just a vote, his scum level has dropped to a minimum. I'd put money on Yanni being town.

Kaze, on the other hand, is my main scum read at this point in time. I thought it was play style, but this game his urge to get as many claims as possible on D1 is REALLY scummy. I see no reason for a townie to want this many claims on D1. If he's not scum, I'd like to see him ease up a bit before he gives the scumteam a roadmap for the whole game.

As far as i can tell, suga, your vote is still on yanni.

Can I get this straight?

A watcher see's who targets the target, but not who the target targets?

Correct. If witch uses it on me, and a scum tries to NK me, or someone vigs me, then he will know.

by imopen2
Oh, imopen, how do you receive your results?
Well I haven't received any yet so I'm not positive but it says I can determine their alignment so I assume just scum/town would be the result. Maybe neutral or something if their are other alignments..?

Posted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 4:27 pm
by RedNihilist
So, let me get this straight: we can have imopen "check" somebody (i.e. Kaze) to see his alignment, while we have witch targeting him in order to know, if mafia NKs him, who murdered him, right?
Things are a little more complicated than this but I believe that there are some nice things that can be done with that combo - I'm not going to build too much on that though, for the moment - but I'd stop asking for claims at the moment.

I just want to remember everyone that this game features an amount of ZERO vanilla characters, so I'd prefer scum players to not know too much.
They now know two PRs that can be an hassle to them AND that they could have some EXTREMELY difficult time interacting with them, giving them other infos could be an error.

Posted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 5:23 pm

basically if imopen dies we know who did it because witch is watching and if witch gets killed or anyone else we get an alignment if these 2 players are town and everything goes as planned

It may be time for early town/scum lists, popcorn order of course. I'd personally like scumbag and lurkers first

If pressure comes down to me I'll claim to avoid being lynched, but I'll hereby state that I'm not thrilled at all about these chain claims, specially for a game without vanillas

An audio diary begins to play across the Rapture intercom: "On the surface, the Parasite expects the doctor to heal them for free, the farmer to feed them out of charity. How little they differ from the pervert who prowls the streets, looking for a victim he can ravish for his grotesque amusement."

Well. I'm trying to decide how much the flavor of characters are relevant to the actual Mafia game. I know Sander Cohen was bat shit crazy and just wanted to do his own thing in the end, but I don't want the prior knowledge of that being what controls my views on imopen. He came off as primarily scummy to me in the beginning, but we'll just see where that train goes.

So in the mean time, Unvote: imopen2, not really feeling it as much as I used to.
