I miss one evening around here and the next thing I know y'all have let a damn Round Brown in the door to kick our collective ass and then shifted to gender-bending zeman and creating sophomoric sex-pun deck names.

God, I love this clan!!!

@Doc - I have an aloe that would eat that one alive...I've tried my best to neglect the thing to death and it just GROWS! BTW, if you ever want to get rid of Jack just tell the wife he broke and ship him out my way...we personally love Nightmare (Lock, Shock, Barrel and Oogie Boogie rock for their total lack of moral hindrances).

I thought I was the only sane one here! Nightmare is required viewing on the evening before Christmas in our house. Hopefully we can introduce it to our kid this year.

LK, you would just fall out here...Vince Guaraldi is one of my son's absolute favorite jazz composers. Starting around Thanksgiving, he will be playing all of the music from the Christmas special on the piano...it's just too awesome. I was loving it last week because he polished up "Linus and Lucy" for his jazz band audition...I want to dance like Snoopy when he's playing it.

Add one more to the Nightmare is awesome list. We watch it several times over the year.

Hogfather is quickly becoming required viewing around here as well.

The Patrick Stewart version of "A Christmas Carol" is one of our top shows, along with A Christmas Story, Nightmare, Grinch and pretty much everything by Rankin & Bass.

We generally end up watching The Princess Bride sometime during the holidays as well...and then walk around quoting it like the geek family we are.

The Princess Bride...it's been far too long since I've watched it. Well, maybe after we've seen Doctor Who Season 7, Breaking Bad...and we still have half of Firefly unseen...

Favorite speech from The Princess Bride

Westley: To the pain means the first thing you will lose will be your feet below the ankles. Then your hands at the wrists. Next your nose.
Prince Humperdinck: And then my tongue I suppose, I killed you too quickly the last time. A mistake I don’t mean to duplicate tonight.
Westley: I wasn’t finished. The next thing you will lose will be your left eye followed by your right.
Prince Humperdinck: And then my ears, I understand let’s get on with it.
Westley: Wrong! Your ears you keep and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, “Dear God! What is that thing,” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

Should be directed at Maze's
End players.

Edit: And then piss on them for good measure.

Absolutely, James. Are you and Pip going to see "About Time"? Groundhog Day meets Love Actually...the latter being another great holiday-time film (though not nearly as funny).
