What we learned tonight: PyroRed is better positioned online than my RB deck.
I'll still be playing RB locally since my meta is so midrange heavy, but it's actually not as good against mono black as we thought (unless I'm just getting incredibly unlucky against them). I did manage to beat Devotion Blue with my 20-land PyroRed build tonight. Also beat UW and Esper.

Hey, random question I just thought about. If I'm 3-0 at a fnm with 16 people, can I go watch the other 3-0 table? It gives information about your next opponent, and I just don't know if its against the rules or not.
Same for taking the concept to a larger tournament... What's the thought there? Is it against the rules, just slightly dodgy, or fine?
On another note, I think I've finally forgiven myself for missing out on the gameday mat by one placing. It mainly came cause I finally realized that I don't need it. I already have the best game day mat. M14 chandra gameday mat

Spectating your opponents is perfectly acceptable when done safely.

Val, quite playing your fucking lands. You give up SO MUCH percentage when you go hellbent for no goddamn reason. You just give your opponent the opportunity to play perfectly which is stupid beyond reason.

I survived for 3 turns longer than I should have in a DGR draft game because my opponent was so afraid that my Plains was an Aetherize. I didn't win, but it made him swing with 5 power instead of his full 12 for 4 turns.

I'm afraid to say this, with the communication barely started, but so far wizards customer service is actually being really legit.
My then-lgs entered my name as a shortened nicknamey form. This annoys the heck out of me, but I never got around to fixing it till now e.e
Strange the things you finally get around to at 2:30 in the morning e.e

I love seeing boggart ram-gang in lists. My real question is how do you plan on casting domri. Nykthos could do it if you are willing to rely on having hybrid dudes out, which seems shaky, but wouldn't replacing some mountains with stomping grounds or groves of the burnwillows be more reasonable.

Grove of the Burnwillows goes against your plan. You'd play Rootbound Crag or Copperline Gorge.

So does swords to plowshares, but it's still one of the best removal spells ever printed, even in white weenie decks, but yeah rbc or clg would be better than gotbw, I was just listing it as a for instance. Heck just adding a forest or two would be better than no consideration. I would personally just find something to replace domri, even if it isn't as good, just to keep the manabase simple.

No green sources for Domri?
Also on a sidenote, the guy that's trying to add four Dark Prophecies into a Mono Black aggro deck is still going at it defending his actions, this time naming RDW having no way in beating his amazing card advantage. Mogis's Marauder is bad according to him, because he's bad at defense. Here's the thread if anyone is interested:

It's funny because I normally sandbag a shit ton of lands all the time in paper. Don't know why I felt the need to play them more last night.

There have been many times on stream where I've commented on my opponent unnecessarily playing lands, which makes combat math much easier on me.

If Underworld Connections wasn't a card I'd probably play Dark Prophecy and a shit-ton of creatures in Devotion. Hell, it might even be okay in the Aggro version, though I'm not nearly experienced enough with the deck to say that with any degree of certainty.

Re: land drops.
Unless you actually need the lands for something (casting spells, Hammer Time, Monsterous, etc.) just keep them in your hand.

Here ya go, Khaos...my dad had this album in his collection when I was a kid. In fact, I'm pretty sure I still have some Boots in a box of vinyl around here somewhere...

You've never seen the Wolf Girl pic before now? How?! I even got the original file from zeman and another photo buddy and I worked it up as a portrait. Whoa...certainly glad Raida asked, because that self-image by Pip is the kind of shot that photogs dream of capturing. It's purely
beautiful.
re Kaze: He said he needed a pocket knife for work for opening freight/boxes rather than having to try to make due with keys. That's why we've been proposing ~3" blade easy-opens that don't bulk up in your pocket.

Just wondering. People were talking about slashing and just getting a gun and such so I figured if he was going to try and carry it as a weapon I should try and disabuse him of the notion.
