And it's a Flinthoof Boar every time you draw a land, which is sweet.

So, blue gets a sorta-sweeper that exiles creatures permanently? That's quite insane. Sure, you get 2/2 swines out of it, but that's still pretty nuts.

That comparison doesn't is so far off it hurts :/

Also, tutelage was ALSO a sideboard card :p

I also like that blue card. It forces deckbuilders to make interesting decisions and seems awesome in limited.

We're all gonna be exiled and turn into swine.... Damn it. Should at least have been xxuu. It's way better than bonfire. You can combo with detention sphere or ratchet bomb to make everyone cry.

It's actually not THAT great. And supreme verdict is still in standard people :/

It's interesting because you can exile your own cards if that's every relevant, and because it removes indestructible cards like gods.

so they go and print gods so that it feels like were playing epic games of magic and then go and give BLUE a way to turn our RAGE HAMMER GOD OF SALVATION into a fucking SWINE?

jesus fucking hell

edit: the hammer looks nice, but I understand LP's concerns.

Red has always been why red can't have nice things.

Remember when we could Ash Zealot+Rancor and shit on anything all the time?

Yeah then those kids went and just HAD to go faster with BTE+LM and madcap skills and 4maindeck pillars, ruining our goddamn engines by just killing us dead while we tried to have nice things

Bets on the legendary land enabling ember swallower as a wrath affect?

I REALLY like Nykthos in mono-red.

Cackler>ash zealout>reckoner>Ember Swallower>Nykthos make a million mana, exile all the lands and beat face with your 7/8 elemental. Oh, and nykthos means you still have a million mana.

I will be playing multiple copies of the hammer in any red deck I play going forward. The card does too many things to not just be stone-cold nuts.

DT was definitely a maindeck card in Vamps.

Everything having RR in it gets pretty gross, yeah.

Jesus Christ wizards, BLUE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO GET POWERFUL REMOVAL SPELLS YOU FUCKTARDS:

Image
Definitely seems a little OP for straight-up blue comparing it cost and effecti-wise to, say, Turn to Frog. But again, as much as I don't want this coming across the table at me, I have to give the design team 10/10 on flavor. They nailed Circe perfectly, though if they followed The Odyssey to the letter, the spell would be reversible...

Curse of the Swine is quite disgusting. Mass, TARGETED, removal? And the creatures are exiled? Really? Fuck that. Way too overpowered. I'm drunk, by the way. So I'm probably overreacting. Whatever the case, I DON'T like this card.

I'm super happy about getting scry in red. Whatever we can get to smooth out our draws is fine by me.

About to be really sad come rotation. Been playing the aristocrats all day and just stealing wins from noobs with clever play.

I really should have said "from all colors" or at least red, blue, and black. I'm a huge fan of Scry. Preordain was my bro.

Any deets?
From the Worldbuilding panel discussion; they showed a pic and described Xenagos as a satyr planeswalker. There is some confusion with this as far as story line stuff because at some point Xenagos is supposed to become a god (which fits with another pic that is in the art spoilers where he is shown in godlike proportions towering over a building with galaxies winding through his torso). Sorry but I can't link the pics from here, though I'm sure that they are over on Sally.

I don't like where that's going flavor-wise.

Hellrider would have been really nice with that Hammer on the board. Gonna miss that guy.

Baby cerberus is not at all exciting for Standard (1/2 DS for 1 :symr: :symr:), but this color devotion thing is really going to make for some interesting drafting I would think.

To clarify, the pic they showed of Xenagos for the PW was not godlike; the picture from the art dump is.

Print some more burn spells dammit. Also, spoil the whole set already.

Baby Cerebus is just the worst Mirran Crusader / Boros Swiftblade ever :(

Agree on all counts, zeman...I hate this trickle-spoiler crap for marketing. And that cerberus doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence with Crusader, though I suppose it's not fair of me to compare a common with a scary rare. Thinking of Crusader in Delver still makes my face twitch...

Thinking about it, that baby cerberus makes sense in this set; as a common, its going to be a decent target creature for layering on enchantments given that this set is taking them as a focus. Depending on now much and what kind of removal there is, he could get stupid really quickly with the right pumps.

Well green stays with big and stompy!

Nylea, God of the Hunt :3mana: :symg:
Legendary Enchantment Creature-God (M)

Indestructible

As long as your devotion to green is less than 5, Nylea isn’t a creature. (Each :symg: in the mana costs of permanents you control counts towards your devotion to green.)

Other creatures you control have trample.

:3mana: :symg: : Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.

Inb4 hexproof being broken. Also, Daxos doesn't let you play lands does he?

No it doesn't, because it specifically says you can "cast" and not "play".

Titan of Eternal Fire

All humans you control have R, tap, deal 1 damage to target creature or player.

Unfortunately, he's a six drop 5/6 and a giant.

They also just spoiled a card that when it becomes monstrous can black 99 creatures. You know, because it has 100 hands.
